This is a JDM DOHC VTEC Egine Swap

The donor car was a 1999 Honda Civic Si-R.  The engine and tranny were imported from Tokyo to the U.S. via Toronto, Canada.  The sex change was performmed over the winter of 2002.

The JDM Spec VTEC & Transmission

This DOHC VTEC is a JDM Spec Engine and tranny were imported from Japan -  The donor car a 1999 Honda Civic Si-R.  The Parts were delivered to Toronto, Canada and then brought over the U.S. border via truck.  The engine and tranny were test fitted and run on the stand before being installed.

The detail work and powder coat painting was done prior to installation. 

We Pulled The Original SOHC VTEC

The original 1994 del Sol "S" model included this SOHC VTEC and automatic transmission.  After pulling the SOHC VTEC we prepped the engine bay for the transplat.

New Motor Mounts Are Welded In

Two mount had to be welded into the Engine Bay to accomodate the new engine.

The Engine Bay Is Prepped Including Black Out

Here we are in process of "Blacking Out" the engine compartment and installing the new motor mounts.

Completed Engine Bay Ready For Transplant

Details complete, motor mounts welded in place the NEW engine bay is ready for the NEW engine and 5-Speed transmission.

Sex Change Complete - An Automatic No More!

With the installation of the clutch pedal and Exedy Performance Clutch assembly "Amarillo del Sol" completes her sexual reassignment surgery - Female (automatic) to Male (stick)

The New Engine And Transmission Installed

With the transplant complete,  chrome headers are added along with a custom yellow Iceman cold air intake -- Phase Three is complete!
